Prep and Recap (Home Learning)

    Prep and recap front 2021

All students will be required to complete home learning.

    • KS4 subjects and KS3 core subjects will set home learning weekly.

    • Non-core KS3 subjects will be set 2 or 3 times a half term depending on how many lessons they have a fortnight.

    • Some subjects such as Sparx Maths, Reader and Science will be set and monitored electronically. In these subjects, students can record their log-in details in the front of their planners.

    • Other subjects will be providing homework booklets or projects to students. Parents should be able to see these through their child. There is a space for parents to sign to indicate that they have seen the work completed. There is also a space for teachers to sign. These booklets will also be uploaded onto their class Teams page so that their home learning can also be accessed electronically.

    • Try to create a routine for completing home learning in a quiet place, free from distractions such as electronic devices.

    • Students are likely to achieve more by working in 30-minute slots with short breaks in between. This will help with concentration and retrieval of information.

    • Above all, plan ahead to make the best use of time and do not leave home learning, projects or assessment work until the last minute.

    • Where extra challenge has been provided, if possible, try to complete this to deepen your understanding and mastery.
