At St Clere's, we strive to make science exciting, inspiring and relevant. We want young people not to just remember science facts but to challenge the world around them and develop analytical and evaluative skills.

Our course will enable students to develop a broad base of scientific knowledge to understand the world they live in, to learn to express themselves creatively and imaginatively and to communicate with others confidently and effectively - all invaluable skills for their future lives.

Students learn to:

  • plan and carry out scientific investigations
  • justify choice of equipment and methodology
  • draw and interpret graphs and tables
  • synthesise arguments from evidence (or lack thereof)
  • write logical and coherent conclusions
  • evaluate evidence for strengths, weaknesses and gaps in knowledge.
